课题组工作主要围绕固废处理和土壤修复的基础研究、工程应用及技术标准编制展开,承担国家科技支撑计划项目、863项目、自然科学基金面上项目、住建部标准定额司项目、湖北省科技厅重点科技项目等省部级科研项目20多项,主持固废处理和土壤修复方向的专项规划、项目建议书、工程可行性研究报告及设计、技术咨询及技术标准编制等项目100多项。在卫生填埋技术、老垃圾填埋场生态修复技术、渗滤液污染控制技术、粪便污泥处理、重金属污染土和难降解有机废水催化氧化体系等方面取得一定的成果,专利20多项,论文100多篇,专著译著5部,主编国家和行业技术标准与导则12项,多项科研成果获省市科技进步一等奖。

培养毕业博士生和硕士生100多名,博士后出站1名,毕业生主要就业于市政工程设计院和环境设计科研院、高校、政府环保和发改委部门、环保企业、出国攻读博士和博后等;指导本科毕业设计150多人次,多人获湖北省大学生优秀学士学位论文一、二等奖。

课题组现有教授1人,副教授1人,博士后1人,博士生7人,硕士生12人。环境工程和化学工程方向招收硕士和博士研究生,固废处理和环境化学方向招聘博士后。
